The Royal Docket for January 16, 2014

The Earl of Wessex and the Princess Royal will be carrying out engagements today.

HRH The Earl of Wessex

Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, as the Master of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, will attend the organization's Committee Day at the Guildhall Hall in London. The Gardeners are a City of London Livery Company. It no longer engages in the regulation of produce, but is now a charitable institution, for the promotion of good gardening and horticulture.

HRH The Princess Royal

Princess Anne, Princess Royal will be in East Sussex, where she will open the City and Guilds of London Institute's Kenio Office at Sovereign House. The Institute is a vocational educational organization that offers 500 certifications in a variety of fields, and operates under a Royal Charter issued by Queen Victoria in 1900. Princess Anne is the Institute's President, having taken over from her father Prince Philip in 2011, who had held the position for nearly 60 years.

As President of Carers Trust, she will stay in East Sussex to visit the Brighton and Hove Carers Center on the occasion of their 25th Anniversary. One of Carers Trust's preceding entities is the Princess Royal Trust for Carer's, which was founded on the initiative of Princess Anne in 1991, who wanted to lend her title to an organization dedicated to providing support for people caring for disabled family, friends, and loved ones.
