Royal Docket for January 15, 2014

The Countess of Wessex and the Princess Royal are carrying out engagements today, and the Duke of York is in Bahrain.

HRH The Countess of Wessex

     As President of Girlguiding, Sophie, Countess of Wessex is visiting the 7th Frimley Brownies at 111 Portsmouth Road in Frimley, Surrey. Girlguiding is the British equivalent to the Girl Scouts in the United States, and the Queen is Patron of the organization.

HRH The Princess Royal

     In Hereford, Princess Anne, Princess Royal will be attending three engagements.

     She will open the Hereford Livestock Market, and will attend a showcase of the Herefordshire Carers Support and Family Drug Support as the President of the Carers Trust. One of the organization's preceding entities is the Princess Royal Trust for Carer's, which was founded on the initiative of Princess Anne in 1991, who wanted to lend her title to an organization dedicated to providing support for people caring for disabled family, friends, and loved ones. The Princess will also visit the West Mercia Women's Aid and West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Center at the Berrows Business Centre.

     In London, she is attending a dinner at Brooks's on James Street - one of the oldest gentleman's clubs in the city. The dinner is being held by the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, of which the Princess is Patron.

HRH The Duke of York

     Prince Andrew, Duke of York was received by the Crown Prince of Bahrain while on visit to that country on the behalf of HM Government and as part of the GREAT campaign to promote British interests, as well as to highlight the links between Britain and Bahrain.
